Green Dot is an international movement built on the premise that individuals can systematically and measurably reduce the levels of power based personal violence found in their community.
Green Dot is based on social diffusion theory and social psychological research, all of which point to the power each of us has to effect change in our social environments. The principles of Green Dot are a natural fit with our Aggie values and traditions, as they emphasize actively engaging with, and supporting, each other. Just as the Twelfth Man stands ready to support Aggie endeavors, so do Green Dot trained students stand ready to intervene and help prevent acts of violence from occurring. With the Aggie family engaged in the shared responsibility for positive social change, our students will gain tangible leadership skills and will be supported in exploring sensitive topics while reducing the number of power based personal violence incidents wherever Aggies are.
We can’t do this without you. What’s your green dot?
