Register for a Green Dot Bystander Intervention Training or Overview

Green Dot Overview
An overview is 90-minutes long for faculty/staff/administrative audiences, and 60-90 minutes for student audiences. The overview may be delivered via Zoom or in-person by a trained facilitator. The overview is intended to provide basic knowledge and strategies for how to safely & effectively intervene when witnessing an act of power-based personal violence. Participants will identify warning signs of sexual violence, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking; become more self-aware of barriers that prevent them from taking action; explore intervention strategies that are realistic for them in different contexts; identify pro-social behaviors to use in every day practice that establish norms that are intolerant of violence.

Green Dot Training
The training is 3.5-hour presentation delivered in person by trained facilitators. The training is designed to build a thorough understanding of the national Green Dot bystander intervention strategy, and equip participants with an advanced skillset to be responsibly reactive and proactive in sustaining norms on our campus that are intolerant of violence. Participants will connect more consciously to their opinions regarding the role and responsibility of the bystander; recognize behaviors associated with sexual violence, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking; recognize barriers that may prevent them from intervening; develop realistic intervention strategies given their unique set of barriers; understand the basic elements of culture change and engage others in this change through their social networks/spheres of influence.

Virtual Overview: introduces bystander intervention; basic knowledge and skill-building; is useful for those seeking an introduction, but is not a replacement for the full Training. Bystander Intervention Training: In-depth knowledge and skill-building of bystander intervention; results in a designation as the participant being Green Dot Trained on college campuses.
  • Registration For Virtual Overview

The Virtual Overview is 90-minute instruction delivered over Zoom by one of our Texas A&M faculty/staff members who is trained to facilitate the national curriculum. The Overview is designed to build a basic to intermediate understanding of bystander intervention. Note that the Overview is not intended to be a replacement for a full Bystander Intervention Training; rather, it is a way to get information and skill-building to those who may have busier schedules or just want an introduction to Green Dot.
Green Dot Overviews are hosted through a Texas A&M secured Zoom account. You will receive the Zoom link and passcode to join this Green Dot Overview following the registration process.
